Hi, I’m Kaci — the heart and hands behind Wild Aster Floral.
I grew up in Oregon, surrounded by rivers, wild landscapes, and seasons that taught me early on to notice beauty in its natural state. Before flowers became my full-time focus, I spent years as a whitewater kayaker and guide — a chapter of my life that quite literally shaped my path. It was through the river that I met my husband, and those years instilled in me a deep respect for nature, intention, and showing up fully for the people who trust you with meaningful moments.
Floral design entered my life much earlier, back in high school, where I first learned the foundations of working with flowers. Since then, it has woven its way in and out of my life — sometimes as a career, sometimes as a creative outlet, but always as something that felt like home. No matter where I was or what I was doing, I kept finding my way back to flowers.
A few years ago, my husband and I moved to Friendsville, Maryland, ready to put down roots and build a life here. We were married in 2025, and like many couples, we experienced firsthand how deeply vendors impact a wedding day — for better or for worse. A disappointing experience with one of our own wedding vendors became a turning point for me. It clarified exactly how I didn’t want to operate, and solidified my commitment to doing things differently: with transparency, care, clear communication, and deep respect for each client’s trust.
Today, Wild Aster Floral is a reflection of all those chapters coming together. As we begin building our family and investing in this community long-term, my goal is to create florals that feel intentional, expressive, and deeply personal — whether for weddings, events, or moments of remembrance.
The name Wild Aster is especially meaningful to me. Aster has always been one of my favorite flowers to work with - colorful and delicate yet resilient - and the fact that it grows natively here made the name feel like a perfect fit. Much like our own journey, it represents putting down roots, adapting to new landscapes, and blooming where you’re planted.
Thank you for being here and for supporting a small business built with heart. I’m honored to create alongside you.
~Kaci
